“Trump strongly wants to end the war, and if that fails, he will seize the Kharg Island,” an unnamed source cited by the report said.
The source added, “Preparations for this scenario are also underway.”
Reports indicate that Israel is aiming to achieve as many military objectives as possible to limit Iran’s ability to produce weapons and military equipment.
Kharg Island is located roughly 30 kilometers (19 miles) off Iran’s coast in the Persian Gulf and plays a key role in the country’s oil export operations.
Since Feb. 28, the US and Israel have carried out airstrikes on Iranian territory, reportedly resulting in over 1,340 fatalities, including the then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. In response, Iran has launched drone and missile attacks targeting Israel, as well as locations in Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf nations hosting US military assets, causing casualties, infrastructure damage, and disruptions to global markets and aviation.
